Makeup after a skin treatment

After laser treatment or another dermatological procedure, your skin may need time to heal. The right aftercare depends on the treatment, the area treated and your clinician's instructions.

Use the aftercare instructions from the clinician or clinic that performed your treatment. A general website cannot tell you when to restart makeup or skincare. Guidance differs by procedure: some NHS laser aftercare instructions advise avoiding makeup for a period after treatment, while other procedures set different timelines.

Until your clinician says it is safe, do not apply makeup over skin that is still open, blistered, weeping, crusted or irritated. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the treated area.

Aspilon makeup gives coverage, not medical aftercare. It does not heal treated skin or prevent treatment-related colour changes.
