Birthmarks

Pigmented and vascular differences: correction without heaviness.

Book a consultation

Birthmarks vary: café-au-lait, Mongolian, congenital melanocytic nevi, strawberry marks. The common thread is needing a product that matches the surrounding skin tone cleanly, without creating a visible border where coverage ends.

How to cover

Three steps.

  1. Match your shade to the surrounding skin, not the birthmark itself. Our shade quiz handles this correctly. Start there.

  2. Apply Foundation to the birthmark first, building from the centre outward. Two layers reach most pigmented birthmarks; one layer suffices for lighter ones.

  3. Feather the edges into surrounding skin with a clean fingertip or damp sponge. The goal is no visible line where coverage stops.

What works

A few things we’ve learned.

  • 01

For darker birthmarks, a thin layer of CC Cream after Foundation warms the tone so the cover doesn't read ashy.

  • 02

If the birthmark crosses a hairline (face into scalp), use the brush. It gets under fine hair without matting it.

  • 03

For stage or photo, three full layers set with powder. For everyday, one or two. Trust your own mirror, not an Instagram filter.
