Burn marks & scars
Layerable correction for texture and tonal changes.
Healed burns and scar tissue have two problems: colour difference and texture difference. Most foundation collapses on textured skin within an hour. Aspilon's flexible base is designed to flex with scar tissue instead of cracking off of it.
Three steps.
Only apply once the area is fully healed and your doctor has cleared topical products. Never apply to open or recently-grafted skin.
Moisturise the scar thoroughly first. Scar tissue is drier than surrounding skin and will pull at product otherwise.
Apply Foundation in thin layers with a stippling motion (press, don't drag). Two layers is the usual target; three for very discoloured scars.
A few things we’ve learned.
- 01
For raised scar tissue, the brush gives more control than fingertips. You can work around the ridge without flooding it.
- 02
Avoid setting powder directly on scar tissue. It emphasises texture. Set the surrounding face only.
- 03
Keloid or hypertrophic scars may benefit from a dermatology-led conversation before covering long-term. A consultation is the right place to start.
